We know booking a styled shoot or workshop can feel like a risk. Crowded sets, unclear expectations, and lack of organization are common complaints in this industry, so we've always kept this in mind when planning Colorpop over the last 5 years. Your experience here is our top priority, and every detail of our events is built around professionalism, respect, and giving you space to actually create. Colorpop is an inclusive space that welcomes photographers and creatives of all backgrounds, identities, and experience levels, and we are proudly LGBTQIA+ affirming. Building a creative community where everyone feels seen, respected, and supported is at the heart of what we do.

Marina works alongside an (all women!) hired team of producers, assistants, and creatives who care deeply about running a well-organized event. We set clear guidelines around respect on set, how to work efficiently in small groups, and how to share creative space without stepping on each other. In the weeks leading up to the workshop, you'll receive regular updates and detailed briefings so you know exactly what to expect, what to bring, and how to prepare. We've been honored to hear from both past attendees and models that Colorpop has been the most well-organized styled shoot they've ever been a part of, and we work hard to make sure that reputation holds with every event we run!

We Get It, Styled Shoots Don't Always Have the Best Reputation

what is colorpop?

OUR NEXT EVENT DATES HAVE YET TO BE ANNOUNCED. JOIN THE MAILING LIST!

Colorpop is a photography workshop series founded in 2021, built around colorful, high-level shoot concepts and an inclusive creative community. Events have ranged from large-scale multi-day retreats to smaller, intimate one-day workshops focused on education, all centered on giving photographers the experience, imagery, and creative push they need to grow.

Past attendees have walked away with portfolio work they're genuinely proud of, lasting friendships with other creatives, and the kind of momentum that's launched some into going full-time, landing dream collaborations, and finally creating the work they've always wanted to make. Colorpop is for photographers ready to invest in themselves, step outside their comfort zone, and leave feeling empowered, inspired, and connected to a community of people just as passionate about the craft as they are.

Our Last Event: Colorpop MINI!

April 18, 2026

In April 2026, fifteen photographers gathered at a studio in Jacksonville, Florida for a full day of shooting, learning, and connecting at Colorpop Mini: Build Your Book. After a presentation from Marina on building a portfolio for brand work, attendees rotated through three fully styled shoot concepts featuring real products from real brands:

FASHION

PRODUCT

LIFESTYLE

A fashion shoot featuring a women's clothing brand, a product shoot with a leather handbag brand, and a lifestyle shoot with a bedding and sleepwear brand. The day wrapped with a culling and editing demo and tips on pitching your work, sending attendees home with a fresh body of pitch-ready work and a clearer creative process to carry into future brand shoots.

behind the scenes of past events

Marina is a photographer, educator, and Canon ambassador, and has been hosting events for creatives since 2018. She makes educational content for photographers of all skill levels and works with brands to create photo and video content, usually featuring creative portraits or women’s fashion.

At Colorpop, her role as event host extends well beyond teaching. Marina leads the creative direction for every shoot concept, from mood boarding and color palettes to wardrobe, props, set design, and art direction, ensuring each setup tells an intentional story. On the day of the workshop, she guides attendees through the full creative process, offering hands-on direction, posing support, and feedback throughout each shoot, so photographers can focus on creating their best work.

“I didn’t expect to leave so incredibly moved and emboldened by Colorpop, but I'm ready to create profound imagery that moves people, that makes them feel something. I owe this eagerness, this inspiration, and this motivation to Colorpop. The time and financial investment was well worth it - there’s no way to put a price on what I’ve gained from this experience. Colorpop has inspired me to do whatever it takes to create whether it scares you or not, whether people like it or not. I finally feel like I should start taking pictures of what I want to take pictures of and I now know that I can do it!”

“Colorpop was hands down the best investment I’ve made for my business. I went into the weekend thinking I’d get a trip to Utah, shoot really cool content, and meet Marina… all of which would have been worth it. What I didn’t know, though, is that I’d gain so much more than that - Colorpop launched me into going full time, upped my exposure more than I could have imagined, and brought me some of my now best friends that I even started a podcast with for other creatives. I would choose it 1000x over again.”

“Colorpop was worth every penny I spent on it. I went into it with high expectations, and they were exceeded. I met the most amazing people, was able to network with models I had been wanting to work with, build my portfolio, shoot the most dreamy set ups in the coolest places, learn from someone I look up to, and most of all step out of my comfort zone and get the push I needed to really do the work I want to. You can tell Marina and Ashley put their heart and souls into everything. They provided value in all areas of the event; social, creative, educational. They genuinely cared about the attendees and their time. I have never felt so empowered, fulfilled, and passionate about my job.”

“Colorpop was easily the best choice and investment I have ever made in my photography career. I learned so many new things, pushed myself out of my comfort zone on so many levels, and one of the best parts - I met so many crazily talented people whom I now call friends. It was truly an amazing time. Marina, Ashley, and the team were very accommodating to my needs as a Deaf photographer. I appreciated them for arranging interpreters and making this event accessible for me. I couldn’t have had a better experience!”

“To anyone who thinks they’ll never be able to make the leap into the deepest, darkest depths of their creativity: Marina and Ashley are the best people to prove you wrong. Even a short weekend with them will completely overhaul your idea of what’s possible. I was faced with the overwhelming possibility of making *anything* I wanted out of the concepts Ashley and Marina put together. When you go to Colorpop, you’ll find a community. You’ll create the best work of your life, and it will feel undeniably yours. When you have the chance to invest in yourself and work with Marina and Ashley, take it— the momentum will take you to the parts of yourself that you never knew existed.”

“It’s difficult to describe how wonderful my Colorpop experience was. The sense of community was like nothing I’d ever felt before, everyone I met was so incredibly talented and uplifting! We all inspired each other through every shoot and all the fun moments in between, I know that I walked away with lasting friendships. The models were so talented and the styling and colours were an absolute dream. Colorpop has transformed me as a photographer, editor, model, and business owner. I will talk about this experience for the rest of my life!”
